Birthday Parties at the Zoo!
The Buttonwood Park Zoo is now booking birthday parties. If you are interested in holding your child’s birthday party at the zoo, please call the Bear’s Den Café at (508) 991-4556, ext. 6 at least 2 weeks prior to the party. If the date is available, a $25 deposit will be required to hold it for your party.
Price: $11/person
Members’ price: $10/person and the birthday child is free!
This birthday package is available for groups of 10 to 20. If adults accompany children to the party and participate in lunch, the charge is $10 or $11. If adults accompany children to the party, but do not participate in lunch , the charge is a $5 per adult.

The Zoo Crew
Make Your Summer Plans Now!
Zoo Crew is a summer program designed especially for children ages 8 to 12. Each session has been developed to have a balance of outdoor and classroom learning, educational games and activities, crafts and fun! Learn about animals, explore different zoo careers, and much more.
Each weeklong program runs 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
July 26 – 30: The Animal Kingdom
August 2 – 6: You Belong in a Zoo
August 9 – 13: The Big Blue Ocean
August 16 – 20: Wildlife Protectors
August 23-27: You Belong in a Zoo * Special second offering of most popular session!
Members: $175/week per child. $150/ additional child
Non-member: $200/week per child. $175/ additional child

Wild Times
During the summer season, public programs, known as Wild Times, are offered daily. These programs can include animal feedings, discovery stations, enrichment or training sessions, story times and keeper talks. The schedule for Wild Times changes every day, so check the “Today’s Events” board in the admissions building when you enter the zoo. Wild Times are free with zoo admission.
Special Event Days
The zoo’s education department sponsors special event days throughout the year. Our special events are themed weekend days that incorporate activities, games and crafts that emphasize an animal or topic. Check the calendar for events such as Spring at the Farm (May), Bear Awareness Day (May), Biodiversity Day (June), Bug-a-rama (July), Zookeeper Day (August) and Elephant Appreciation Day (September). All of these fun-filled days are free with zoo admission! Check the calendar for specific dates.
Breakfast with the Animals
Rise and shine with the animals! Join the zoo staff as they prepare exhibits for the day and feed the animals. Then enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet at the Bear’s Den Café. Program fee includes tour, breakfast and zoo admission for the day. This program generally runs from May to October. Please check the calendar for prices and the next available date.
