Would you like to do something about these concerns?
If the answer is “YES”, then Roots and Shoots is the right group for you!
Roots and Shoots is an international program that was founded by Jane Goodall to give you the opportunity to create positive change in your community and environment. Roots and Shoots groups carry out campaigns to help improve their communities and to protect the environment and animals.
If you are interested in making positive changes in the world we live in, JOIN NOW!
Your local group is the Roots and Shoots Planet Protectors, located at the Buttonwood Park Zoo. Our group completed numerous projects in 2007 including letters to comfort children in Kenya that have been victims of war, marching in the Earth Eve parade, creating enrichment for animals at the zoo, attendance to major environmental conferences and regional Roots and Shoots events, and campaigns to protect endangered species.
We have been busy in the past year and are now looking for more students like you to join our group and help us make the world a better place.
We are accepting 10 students from area schools between the ages of 13-16. You can download this information page to share with your parent and/or teacher. To apply for one of our openings just fill out the application located here. For more information email us at rootsnshoots@bpzoo.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
