There are many ways you can help conservation efforts!
- Make your own composting bin
- Protect a vernal pool…
- Volunteer at the zoo or at another conservation organization
- Donate to the Zoo
- Buy locally grown foods.
- Get involved in national wildlife and citizen scientist programs:
- Reduce your carbon footprint (the amount of greenhouse gases produced to maintain your day-to-day activities)
- Reduce, Recycle, Reuse
- Use energy efficient light bulbs
- Turn down thermostats in winter, up in summer
- Turn off lights
- Bike or walk instead of drive
- Keep your tires correctly inflated. Under-inflated tires lower gas mileage by 0.4 percent for every one pound of drop in pressure of all four tires. So, if you’re down by 10 pounds you’re losing 4 percent in fuel economy – which is $0.12 a gallon when gas is $3.00/gal.
