Update February 10, 2013: The Zoo will be closed on Monday, February 11, 2013. There will be no Toe Jam Puppet Band shows on Monday. Toe Jam will return to the Zoo on Monday, February 18, for our Wild Winter Week. New Bedford, MA – The Buttonwood Park Zoo will close early on Friday, February 8, 2013, at 12:00pm in preparation for the impending storm this weekend. Zoo staff are currently beginning preparations to safeguard each animal’s space. “Staff will remain at the Zoo for the duration of the storm to ensure the safety of the animals,” said Zoo Director Keith Lovett.
The Zoo currently plans to be closed on Friday, February 8 at 12:00pm, and closed all day on Saturday, February 9, 2013. The Zoo will open Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the earliest. This tiny zoo offers mostly common North American Animals, it is easy to move around and hard to miss stuff. Short and sweet, with a fun train ride for the kiddies. Want to say the only non-north american animals are the Elephants and they used to have a leopard. Mostly animals you can find commonly in the USA.
