This March we’ll have a few of our returning favorites and a two new programs!

Toe Jam Puppet Band
Mondays at 10:30am and 12:30pm

Cost: Zoo admission + $5/family

Sing, dance and play the hour away with New Bedford’s favorite, The Toe Jam Puppet Band.    Join the band on Monday, March 5 for  special Space-themed shows at 10:30am & 12:30pm.

 

Toddler Tales
Every Thursday at 10:30am

Cost: Free with zoo admission

Enjoy a zooper fun story time at the zoo! Toddler Tales includes a snack and a craft/activity. Recommended for ages 3-5.  Please Note: There will be no Toddler Tales, Thursday, April 19.

 

New! Dr. Seuss Birthday Party
Friday, March 2                                 10:00am – 1:00pm

Cost: Free with zoo admission

Join us for Read Across America! We’ll be celebrating all things Seuss, including the Lorax. We’ll share on-going stories and crafts.  Birthday cake will be served at noon.

 

Bear Cub Club
Tuesdays, March 6-April 10                          10:30am – noon
Zoo members: $65/child, additional siblings under 5: $30/child
Non-members: $95/child, additional siblings under 5: $45/child

Does your 2 or 3-year-old love the Zoo?  Do they what to learn more about the animals, sing songs, create crafts, listen to stories and make new friends? Then join the Bear Cub Club! This playgroup is co-sponsored with the Schwartz Center for Children.  For more information or to register, please call (508) 991-6178 x 31.

 

Mommy and Me Yoga at the Zoo!- Busy Bees at 1:00pm (Ages 18 months to 3 years)
March Session Dates: March 7, 12, 21, 28

Four Week Session Costs
Zoo Members: $32 per adult/child pair;  Non-members: $40 per adult/child pair plus zoo admission

Stretch, Learn, Breathe, Play at the Buttonwood Park Zoo!Join certified children’s yoga instructor Lynda Jacobvitz to explore creative movement through games, songs and simple yoga with your child in a fun and nurturing environment. They will move like frogs, roar like lions and wag their downward dog tails using a variety of multi-sensory experiences. Class is offered to children with a parent, grandparent or caregiver.

Participants must pre-register and pre-pay for Mommy & Me Yoga by calling (508) 991-4556 x 18 or email.

New! Tropical Treasures for Tweens and Teens
Saturdays, March 10-24                                 10:30am-noon

Cost: Zoo members: $ 15/program or all three for $35
Cost: Non-members: $18/ program or all three for $45

What do seed bracelets, chocolate and lip balm all have in common? All of these things can come from plants in the rainforest. Come to the zoo for this new craft series in which we’ll learn a little science, talk a little conservation and then create a wicked cool tropical treasure to take home. Tropical Treasures is recommended for kids ages 9 – 13.  Sign up for one class or take all three! Participants must pre-register and pre-pay by calling (508) 991-6178 x 31.
