Boo at the Zoo Says Thank You!
Buttonwood Park Zoo wrapped up its annual Boo at the Zoo fundraising event on Saturday, October 30, after nine nights of slightly spooky family fun. Thank you to all our visitors who made this fundraiser our best Boo ever!
Thank you to all the staff, board members and volunteers, that helped make this year’s Boo a successful fundraiser for the Zoological Society in its effort to support educational and family programming at the Zoo. Thank you to the many student volunteers from local high schools and youth groups who were instrumental in the running of the event. Thank you to the local nonprofit organizations and businesses that helped us with donations and volunteers. Thank you to the very talented students of Susan Cabral’s Art Studio and the culinary students of Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School for their amazing carved pumpkins, and to Hathaway Manor for sharing their pumpkin contest winners with us. Thank you to Great Cape Baking Company for donating a portion of their cider donut sales back to us, to Alison Blair the Artist’s Muse for her donation of time and talent, and to the Dartmouth High School Chamber Orchestra for sharing their Spooktacular concert music at the event.
A special thank you to our most dedicated and talented volunteer, Sharon Smialek, for the incredible amount of time and energy she pours into the event each year. And finally, thank you to our sponsor, Bristol County Savings Bank, for their continued support of the Zoological Society and for sharing so many of their employees as volunteers throughout the event. We couldn’t have done it without all of you!
