BUTTONWOOD PARK ZOO
PUBLIC NOTICE
MASTER PLAN
Notice is hereby given that the Buttonwood Park Zoo will convene a public hearing to present the Buttonwood Park Zoo Draft Master Plan on Thursday, September 23, 2010. The hearing will be held at the Buttonwood Park Zoo at 425 Hawthorn Street, New Bedford, MA at 6:00 PM. Following the meeting, the draft master plan will be available for review upon request at the Zoo during regular zoo hours of 10 AM to 5 PM until October 8, 2010.
All parties may appear and be heard at the public hearing and/or submit written comment to Zoo Director Dr. William Langbauer, Buttonwood Park Zoo, 425 Hawthorn Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. Comments will be accepted through close of business on October 8, 2010.
We have a family membership to the Buttonwood Park Zoo, and I cannot tell you how much we love and enjoy being a part of that. The animals and their keepers are a source of pure pleasure in our otherwise hectic lives. In a city such as New Bedford, so rich with culture and history, it’s important to maintain the wonderful things that bring pride to our residents and visitors. Our zoo is the gem we most adore. It is with sincere hope that Buttonwood Park will share a small part of it’s land for the benefit of the animals who live there. They deserve the very best from the city that loves them so…..and the zoo is such an educational and joyful aspect of the entire park experience. To better the animal habitats and possibly add new “residents” is something that will bring only good to our wonderful city and zoo!
