The Buttonwood Park Zoo is proud to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the NEW ZOO this August!
Please help us commemorate this exciting anniversary by sharing your memories, stories and photos of the Zoo (both old and new). We will feature select submissions in a special exhibit at the Zoo this August.
All those who share their stories, memories and/or photos (and give us permission to include them in our marketing and exhibit use) will be entered into a drawing for a special meet & greet with our Asian elephants, Emily and Ruth.

On a cold winter day in December 2008, I visited the Buttonwood Zoo on the advice of my husband. I was very upset and anxious about my job. He stated I needed a zoo visit to de-stress. It was a bitterly cold winter day in December. I was bundled up in my coat, hat and scarf. As I walked by the Bison exhibit, they appeared to be happy to have a visitor. They moved closer and seemed to be watching me. I never thought much about Bison before then but on that particular day, I enjoyed their company. Now when I visit the zoo, I look forward to visiting the Bison.
